Windows Server 2025 Standard

The current Windows Server release in its Standard edition, for physical servers and lightly virtualised environments.

Licensing model — read this first

• Windows Server is licensed per physical core, with a minimum of 16 cores per server and 8 cores per processor.
• Standard edition covers two operating system environments (virtual machines). Beyond that, you either license the host again or move to Datacenter.
• Client Access Licenses are required separately for every user or device that connects. They are not included here.
